DNV GL’s Energy Transition Outlook predicts continuing demand growth for Middle East and North Africa oil and gas

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, 15 November 2018: The world will need less energy from the 2030s onwards, but it will still require a significant amount of oil and gas in the lead-up to mid-century according to DNV GL’s 2018 Energy Transition Outlook, an independent forecast of the world energy mix in the lead-up to 2050.

The world’s energy demand will peak in 2035 prompting a reshaping of energy investment

London, September 10 2018 – Global spending on energy, as proportion of economic output, is set to slow sharply because the world’s energy demand will decline from 2035 onwards - that is according to DNV GL’s Energy Transition Outlook. The historically significant change in our energy needs is largely down to rapid electrification and its inherent efficiency.

Energy management: ISO 50001:2018 has been published

This means that before 21 August 2021, all certificates shall be transitioned to ISO 50001:2018 to ensure continued validity. After the transition period, certificates to the 2011-edition cease to be valid. Certification bodies, such as DNV GL, are required to stop performing audits according to ISO 50001:2011 18 months after publication date.
