Emergency and interim measures are being put in place by flag states and recognized organizations to allow commercial marine activities to continue safely while restrictions on travel, port and vessel access and surveys persist.
Regulatory and industry bodies indicate that vessel owners will not be required to conduct a full, annual dynamic positioning (DP) trials programme during this period. However, an interim trials programme with a reduced number of tests may be needed in the cases of system failure, loss of performance or upon charterers’ request.
