ISO to release final draft of ISO 45001 – Occupational Health & Safety

The ISO 45001 Final Draft International Standard (FDIS) is scheduled to be released for review on November 30. In case of a positive vote the standard is expected to be published in February 2018.

DNV GL and Deloitte first to leverage blockchain technology to advance the certification industry

DNV GL has transferred all its 90 000 certificates to a private blockchain, being the first in the certification industry to leverage on this technology. Every certificate is digitally tagged, traceable and stored in a private blockchain. The technology blocks counterfeit certificates, allowing companies to communicate their certification in a transparent and secure way.

Yang Ming implements ECO Insight

The Taiwanese carrier Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp. will roll out DNV GL’s performance management solution ECO Insight. Yang Ming operates a fleet of 98 vessels, representing six million DWT and an operating capacity of 590,000 TEU, the majority of which are container vessels. Yang Ming will use ECO Insight performance management onshore, with Navigator Insight voyage reporting onboard for their vessels.

Gas to become world's primary energy source by 2035

Oil and gas will be crucial components of the world’s energy future, according to DNV GL’s forecast of the energy transition. While renewable energy will grow its share of the energy mix, oil and gas will account for 44% of world energy supply in 2050, compared to 53% today. Gas will become the largest single source of energy from 2034.

World energy demand to plateau from 2030, says DNV GL’s inaugural Energy Transition Outlook

London, 4 September 2017: The world is approaching a watershed moment as energy demand is set to plateau from 2030, driven by greater efficiency with the wider application of electricity. A rapid decarbonization of the energy supply is underway with renewables set to make up almost half of the energy mix by 2050, although gas will become the biggest single source of energy.
