Auditing is foremost a skill. Therefore, for a large part, this training course includes practical exercises and role play. A Lead Auditor should also manage the overall audit process, so all the different steps in the internal/external audit process and their management are covered during the training course. Furthermore we will spend time on the interpretation of the ISO 14001 requirements.
Content:
During the training course you will plan, prepare, execute and report an environmental audit in a team using a realistic case study. With this approach you will be able to gain skills in the planning, preparation and execution of audit interviews and the investigation into documents and records, also gaining knowledge regarding documentation and the organizing and executing of opening and closing meetings. You will learn how to identify report and present audit findings. A major part of the training course consists of practical exercises and role-play in which we include communication skills, audit-, interview, auditing techniques and how to formulate clear and unambiguous audit reports.
This training course has been designed based on the relevant requirements of the ISO 14001, ISO 19011 and IRCA (International Register of Certificated Auditors). This training course forms a part of the formal qualification process to gain recognition as an Auditor by IRCA. Therefore, this training course is registered with IRCA and for this reason a continuous assessment and a written exam form an integral part of the training course.
In this training course we will pay attention to the interpretation of the requirements of the ISO 14001, including inventory and review of environmental aspects, the structure and principles of environmental legislation and preparation of emergency situations.
A major part of the training course involves going through all steps of the internal/external auditting proces through practical exercises and role play.

The duration of this training course is 5 days, without an evening program, and with a maximum of 10 participants.
